Bible Reading Plans

Plans for reading through the Bible or parts of it

God's Word Bible Reading

1 year reading through the whole Bible - Each day has four sections of readings, 2 OT & 2 NT (with a reading from the Gospels each day).

Each month has reading for only 25 days, giving you time to catch up.

1 year reading through the whole Bible (1x in OT, 2x in NT) - Each day of the year has four sections of Bible readings, some from OT & NT, in chronological order within each section.

The classic M'Cheyne plan has readings in the Old Testament, New Testament, and Psalms or Gospels every day. Duration: 365 days.

1 year reading through the whole Bible - Two readings a day: 1) alternates OT & NT (Gospel spread throughout the year) & 2) The wisdom literature and Isaiah.

The Book at a Time Reading Plan provides two readings for each day. The first reading alternates between Old and New Testament books, giving you three or four chapters a day. The Gospels are spread throughout the year. The second reading takes you through a chapter or so of the wisdom literature and Isaiah.

Every 7th day there's no reading, giving you time to catch up.

1 year reading through the whole New Testament - Read the New Testament, 5 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

This reading plan will take you through all 260 chapters of the New Testament. The Gospels are read throughout the year to weave the story of Christ all year long.

6 month reading through the New Testament - Readings for every day are in chronological order.

Psalms/Proverbs Reading Plan Option #2 & How to Pray the Psalms & APP: 5 Psalms a Day in Apple App Store & Google Play

1 month reading through the entire Book of Psalms - 150 chapters divided into 5 sections to read 5 Psalms a day, in 30 days (recommended add-on: 1 chapter of Proverbs a day).

It’s based on taking the 150 psalms and dividing them by thirty days (because most months have at least thirty days). That results in five psalms per day. Or to put it another way, if you were to read five psalms a day for an entire month, at the end of the month you would have read through the entire book of Psalms.

While reading five psalms a day is a great practice, I am also suggesting that after reading the 5 psalms, 1) you pick one of those five psalms to pray out of it, and 2) a verse or verse phrase to meditate on.

1 year reading plan that is a daily devotional Scripture reading for morning and evening - This plan is based on prominent Biblical themes (without commentary) and it is for each day of the year.

This devotional reading plan consists of brief groupings of scripture passages which speak to prominent Biblical themes - two themes (morning and evening) for each day of the year. It appends no commentary, but simply allows scripture to speak for itself. It concentrates on inspirational and devotional thoughts which warm the heart, facilitate private worship, and stimulate the mind in pondering the Persons of our Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Originally printed in the mid-1800s, Daily Light was born out of the devout faith of Samuel Bagster, a British bookstore owner determined to share his faith with his twelve children.

Over the course of a year, enjoy 366 morning and evening Scripture passages paired with readings from Daily Light.
