Helpful Questions to Lead Conversations into Spiritual Conversations 

(questions in bold have my strongest recommendations)

Clarifying Questions About Personal/Religious Beliefs

• What specific spiritual things do you think or wonder about? How often do you think about them? 

• What is your spiritual background? 

• Did your parents practice any religion in your home growing up? What did you decide to do with that as you grew up? 

• (If it sounds like there's already some Christian background) It sounds like you had some exposure to church (or mass) early on in life from your parents (or grandparents). Is attending church still part of your life? - Dependent on response: Why not? OR What does what you have been learning at church mean to you now that you are older? 

• Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? 

Miracle Question

• If God could do a miracle in your life right now, what would you ask Him for?

Questions About Healing Prayer

• Do you have any pain in your body, right now? (tell me more about this problem)

• How can I pray for you, right now? Any physical pain, stresses, and/or worries you are facing? 

• On a scale from 1-10, with one being the least and 10 being the most, What is the level of pain you are experiencing right now?

Questions After You Pray for the Person

• How did that prayer feel for you?

• (if prophetic words were shared) Did anything said connect with you?

Questions that Prepare the Way for a Presentation of the Gospel

• How do you think a person becomes a Christian?

• If you could know God personally, would you be interested?

• Has anyone ever shared the Gospel with you? (I'd be happy to!)

• Even though we’ve been friends for a while, I’ve never shared with you the most important thing in my life. May I do so?

• Can I share with you a picture (or diagram) that changed my life? (Great for sharing the 3 Circles Gospel Presentation)

Questions About Salvation

• If you were to die tonight, do you know for sure you’d go to heaven?

• Has anyone ever taken a Bible and showed you how you can know for sure you are going to heaven?

Questions for When the Person Has Visited Your Church

• I am glad you visited my church recently. May I explain a little more about what our church is all about?

• What connected with you from the sermon today?

• What was the worship time like, for you? 

• What insights and perspectives did you gain from your church visit today?
