Daniel 11:32b Prayer

a devotional prayer

a prayer over in the Body of Christ

Wanted to emphasize this verse as we pray for the church:

  • “...but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action." - Daniel‬ ‭11:32‬b ESV‬‬

  • “...but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” - Daniel‬ ‭11:32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

That we would be a people who...

1. Know our God

Deep knowledge of God in both mind and heart, through His revealed Word and from experience from walking with God through all seasons of life.

2. Display Strength (Stand Firm)

To me this speaks of a strong inner core, a rich inner life, that comes from being rooted and established in His love, intimacy with Him, and an identity that came only from Him. This causes us to stand strong against the voices of our fleshly desires, this misled culture/world, and our most deceptive enemy. They call us always call us to settle for lesser pleasures, than the greater ones we could only ever find in God.

3. Take Action (Do Great Exploits)

“...so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life...” - Philippians‬ ‭2:15-16‬a ‭NIV‬‬

And for this I want to differentiate from doing good/great things FOR God, which if not led BY God could be just as off and just as misled as worldly people. Think of the Pharisees and of Saul (Paul of Tarsus) who were supposedly doing great thing for God but happened to be His greatest opposition! Ouch!!! Jesus said,

  • “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters." - Matthew 12:30 NIV

  • "Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me." - Matthew 12:30 NLT
