Soul Ties

God designed us to have a deep, meaningful connection through relationships that offer a mutual, healthy interdependence, where we can rely on, trust, and give and receive support to one another, but these relationships were meant to be solely dependent to Him. When this is violated and we put more trust in a specific individual rather than on God, we are entering into sin and paving the way for an unhealthy soul tie to form with that a person.
How do we identify ungodly soul ties in our life?
If there is any part of you that still wants or craves a connection to a person, or a thing, even when you know it's unhealthy.
If you find yourself in a repetitive history of unhealthy relationships.
If you are in a relationship where you are not able to genuine be yourself.
Ungodly soul ties can be developed with and through anything that is unhealthy or harmful to you, and they are not just the result of sexual relationships.
"The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." - Galatians 5:19-21 NIV
We can all name our poison if we have the courage to go there; if you will bravely look for patterns in your decisions, choices, and your relationships. The traps of ungodly soul ties will be evident.
How do we break ungodly soul ties?
It is by confession and repentance

How do we stay free from ungodly soul ties?
It is our choosing. It doesn't matters how many transforming [inner healing] sessions we go through if we do not apply what we have learned and do the leg work. Ultimately, we will undo all the work from that session. Spiritually-wise people learn to discern the spirit of a person before we choose to connect with them on a deeper level.

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit...
