1. Ministering To Needs
Create an environment for people to experience the Living God through prayer and ministry.
“And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them. ” - Matthew 4:23
“Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness… These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” - Matthew 10:1,5a,7-8
“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them... Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’” - Luke 10:1-2a,9
“The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!’ And he said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.’” - Luke 10:18-20
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” - Mark 16:17-18
2. Being Witnesses
Share personal testimonies of God's work in our lives, showing that the transformation God did in us can happen to them.
“but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience…” - 1 Peter 3:15-16a
“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.” - Colossians 1:28-29
3. Proclaiming The Word And The Gospel
Share God's word and the message of salvation (the Gospel) in outreach encounters.
“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? ” - Romans 10:14
“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” - Romans 10:17
1. Exposure To Outreach Interactions
Allow participants to observe outreach interactions in real-time and later discuss them to understand different approaches employed.
2. Modeling What To Do
Demonstrate effective use of outreach strategies and tools in real-life settings.
3. Providing Practice Opportunities
Encourage people to apply both familiar and new ministry tools in real-life settings.
