God's Glory → God's Kingdom → Christ Formed in Us → God's Mission
This pattern reflects the movement of Scripture and the highest priorities of prayer. God's glory is the highest end. His kingdom is the great reality we long to see established. Christlikeness is His transforming work within us. Mission is the overflow of lives transformed by His grace.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Glorify Your name in us and through us. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, our communities, and throughout the earth.
By Your Holy Spirit, form Christ in us. Renew our minds, transform our hearts, shape our character, order our desires, and lead us into joyful obedience. Make us a people who love as Jesus loves, live as Jesus lived, and faithfully participate in His mission.
May the beauty of Christ be revealed through our lives so that many may come to know You, worship You, and join in the joy of Your kingdom. For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Jesus teaches us to begin prayer with God's priorities before our own. We pray first for God's glory, then for God's kingdom, then for Christ to be formed in us, so that we may faithfully participate in His mission.
Everything begins with God and returns to God.
God's glory is the highest purpose of creation, redemption, and history. We begin by seeking that His name would be known, honored, and glorified. (Matthew 6:9; John 12:28; Romans 11:36)
God's kingdom is the expression of His reign. We long for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10; Luke 11:2; Revelation 11:15)
Christ formed in us is God's primary means of advancing His kingdom. As the Holy Spirit renews our minds, transforms our hearts, shapes our character, and orders our desires, we increasingly become living expressions of Jesus. (Galatians 4:19; Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18)
God's mission is the natural overflow of Christ's life within His people. Transformed people become sent people, inviting others to know, love, and follow King Jesus. (Matthew 28:18–20; John 20:21; Acts 1:8)
This movement summarizes the Christian life:
We seek God's glory. We welcome His kingdom. We ask Him to form Christ in us. Then we join Him in His mission so that others may glorify Him as well.
