El Camino De Romanos (Spanish version)
The Romans Road is a Gospel presentation that explains the good news of salvation using only Bible verses from the Book of Romans.
The Romans Road Gospel Presentation
1. Romans 3:23
THE PROBLEM: We all have sinned
Every person has sinned and failed to meet God's perfect standard.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
2. Romans 6:23
THE CONSEQUENCE: The punishment for sin is death
The penalty for sin is death - eternal separation from God.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
3. Romans 5:8
THE SOLUTION: Jesus died for us, paying the penalty for our sin
But God showed His love for us by having Christ die for us while we were still sinners, paying our sin-debt.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
4. Romans 10:13
THE INVITATION: Call on the Lord and you will be saved
Anyone who calls on Jesus will be saved.
"For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
5. Romans 10:9-10
THE RESPONSE: Believe in what Jesus did for you (died for your sins to bring you back into relationship with God) and declare, "Jesus is Lord"
What do you have to do to be saved? Believe in Jesus and declare Him as Lord.
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10)
6. Romans 5:1-2
THE RESULT: Peace with God
Through faith in Jesus, we are justified and brought into peace with God.
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:1-2)
7. Romans 8:1-4,38-39
THE ASSURANCE: We will never be condemned for our sins OR separated from God
The final verdict of our salvation is that in Christ there is no longer any condemnation; we are set free from sin and death. Nothing can ever separate us from God's love in Christ Jesus.
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." (Romans 8:1-4)
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)
Romans Road Gospel Message In Summary:
Although we all have sinned and deserve death, Jesus died for our sins, offering us salvation. By believing in Him and declaring Him as Lord, we are saved, brought into peace with God and given the assurance of never being condemned for the sins He has covered or separated from His love.
Pointers for this Gospel Presentation
MEMORIZE the sequence of Bible verses from Romans in preparation to share this Gospel presentation - You can do this by:
Memorizing the order of the verses: Romans 3:23 > 6:23 > 5:8 > 10:13 > 10:9-10 > 5:1-2 > 8:1-4 & 8:38-39
Writing the verses or their references inside your Bible.
Saving them in a note on your smartphone.
Highlighting them in your Bible and practicing moving from one to the other in the sequence given so when the time to present it to someone else, you can flow in it.
INVOLVE the person you are sharing with by having them read the verses, one at a time with your explanation - In order to involve the person you are sharing this with, use a physical Bible (or smartphone Bible). Open it and have the person read the passage aloud for themselves. This is what it means to involve them in it.
ASK & SHARE what each passage reveals - When sharing this Gospel presentation with a person, tell them what that passage reveals. As you have them read each passage aloud, ASK: "What does does this passage reveal about..." For example, you could say right before reading the verse: "Romans 3:23 reveals the problem humankind finds itself in." Right after they read that verse, ask: "What is the problem according to this verse?" Wait for their response. You can do this for each passage shared in the sequence, emphasizing for each what that verse reveals (see the points above for each verse).
OFFER opportunity for the person to surrender their life to God - If a person is ready to turn from their self-directed ways and put their trust in Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, lead them in a prayer of repentance. The beauty of this Gospel presentation is that you can use the very points you made with each verse to have them pray a prayer of repentance: Sample Prayer: Lord, I have sinned against You | and I deserve death - an eternal separation from You | But your Son Jesus died for my sins to forgive my sins and to make a way for me to come into relationship with You | I am now calling on You to save me | I believe in what Jesus did for me and I declare You, Lord of my life! | I thank You that Your Word assures me that I will now have peace with You | And that I will be able to live in Your love always, never to be separated from it, both now and for all eternity!...
